New planning minister

On the 17^th July Gavin Barwell was appointed as the minister of housing and planning and minister for London at the DCLG.  Gavin Barwell is the MP for Croydon Central. He is now also the Minister for London. Phil Williams, RTPI President said, ‘The RTPI is calling on him (Barwell) to value the critical role the planning profession has in providing solutions to the challenges and opportunities the recent vote to leave the European Union has pulled into focus, and that the new government has identified as priorities.’
