Planning Approval Rates and Timescales 2022

We love data at Planning Insight as it helps inform our planning strategies and advise our clients on matters. All Councils are required to submit data on their performance to the government on a quarterly basis. This is known as the PS1 and PS2 returns. In this piece, we look at the data for the whole of 2021. In Part 1, we look at determination times of applications on a national, regional and highlight some councils. In Part 2, we review approval rates for Councils. We highlight the national and regional picture but then look at some individual Councils in the London, Southeast and East of England regions who are performing excellently and some who are woeful.
