Planning Appeals Data – 2023

We love data at Planning Insight and regularly use various sources to influence our planning advice and strategies. Each quarter, the Planning Inspectorate reports on the number of appeal decisions and various sub-datasets including timescales, percentage allowed and dwellings approved. The most recent data set was published in October 2023 for the year 2022/23. In this document, we look at the past 13 years of appeal decisions and a high-level view on the percentages of allowed appeals.
