Planning Insight was appointed by Oakman Inns and Restaurants, to provide Planning Consultancy services on a proposed redevelopment of a former care home. Reestablishing the age old building as a restaurant/pub, within the delightful town of Olney.
The team were required to advise on the proposal for the partial demolition of the existing site, with internal alterations and the erection of a contemporary single storey extension to the rear – in connection with the change of use to a restaurant and pub.
As the existing building was Grade II Listed and situated within the Olney Conservation Area, Planning Insight used our extensive experience of this subject, to offer specialist advice to Oakman Inns and Nicolas Tye Architects, in working up the scheme. We also revised other previous consultants’ reports and prepared a comprehensive Planning Statement to support the proposed development.
The application was submitted in December 2016 and the planning permission and listed building consent was granted in May 2017.
“Planning Insight managed our complex planning and listed building consent applications, for the conversion and extension of the former care home to our new restaurant and bar. They were excellent at co-ordinating the team, and astute at negotiating with the local planning authority, and conservation officer”.
