Objective:

Our team were approached with the request to secure permission for a mixed use residential and, commercial development.

Strategy:

The client and the architect had made previous attempts to secure permission and pre-application advice, with no success. The Planning Insight team needed to work closely with the client to revise the scheme, and submit a stronger application.

Outcome:

Despite previous refusals, we handled the appeal on behalf of the client. The inspector agreed that the size of the commercial use would not harm the viability and vitality of neighbouring centres, nor would the quality of accommodation be unacceptable.

This opened the opportunity for a resubmission, with an amended building line. Permission was therefore successfully secured.
