Latest data shows that 139,030 new homes were finished in England in the year to June 2016, with more than 144,280 homes being started. In London, there was a 24% increase in home building from the previous year with Greenwich and Waltham Forest seeing completions soar over 100% respectively over the same period. Despite this, housing development is still woefully under the rate needed to meet the government led target of one-million new hoes by 2020.
